About
Dr. Kari Quinn is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and licensed acupuncturist specializing in sports orthopedics, women’s health, pain management, and nervous system regulation.
Book a sessionHer work began in Greece, where she provided acupuncture, tuina, and fire cupping at a refugee clinic serving women and children. It was there that she first fell in love with treating pain — and began to understand how deeply pain can be connected to stress, trauma, and the nervous system.
After returning to the United States, Dr. Quinn expanded into sports medicine and orthopedic acupuncture, completing advanced training in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of sports injuries. She eventually began working with Baltimore Ravens NFL players — an opportunity that opened the door to treating elite athletes across the NFL, MLB, and international rugby.
As a former Division I soccer player, Dr. Quinn brings a deeply personal understanding to her work with athletes. She supports pain, injury recovery, mobility, performance, anxiety, sleep, and the nervous system demands of high-level sport — and uses IFS to help athletes uncover recurring emotional and behavioral patterns that affect how they show up in their game.
Endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, fibroids, irregular periods, dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and sexual trauma — with menstrual health education at the center.
Dr. Quinn recently spoke with the female athletes at Howard University in Washington, D.C. about menstrual health, hormones, performance, recovery, and the ways young women can better understand and support their bodies.
“She takes such care and time with me to talk through my experiences before even touching the needles so she knows exactly what I need during our sessions. She is truly such a phenomenal healer.”
